What a year we have had so far but the best is yet to come.
Second semester will be new and different. With new schedules come new classmates and new experiences. I will be teaching different classes as well. I will be adding Secondary 2H and an additional Secondary 1H class which will lower the number of Secondary 1 classes. We welcome Mrs. Parker to our 9th grade team and know she will be a great addition. So if your schedule changed and I am not your teacher, don't worry you will still be in good hands! Hopefully this website will help you if you are absent or just "forgot" your homework.

My name is Lisa Daley. I graduated from BYU, majoring in Geography Teaching with a minor in Math Education. I got my first teaching job at Independence High School teaching math and have taught it since. I taught for 6 years up in Murray School District at Riverview Junior High. I then stayed home with my 4 children, ages 6-14. I kept busy substituting for the math department at Vista Heights along with private tutoring. Last year I decided to return to the classroom and taught part-time at Vista Heights. This year I am full time with the wonderful 9th graders of Saratoga Springs. I am so excited to be teaching again. I love middle school students. I look forward to a fun yet challenging school year, especially with our rocky start. I know the students are strong and can overcome anything thrown their way so let's learn together!
We are almost half way through term 2 with Thanksgiving next week and Christmas just around the corner. I will be sending home a progress report on Monday for the Secondary 1 Math classes. They will need to be signed by a parent and brought back. This will count on their participation grade. It is also a way to make sure that parents know where the students are currently. These are amazing students and it is a privilege to watch the light bulbs turn on and enjoy the aha moments. Math is all around us...now to help them learn how to use and appreciate it! Thanks for letting me teach these awesome young people!
Well, we survived the first term of the year! Thank you for your patience with me and your students. I am looking forward to another term full of lots of learning. This term will be introducing many new concepts so it is crucial that you keep absences to a minimum. If you plan to be absent, remember everything is available on this website. If you have any questions or need help at all, please let me know and I will get back to you as soon as possible! Watch out term 2, here we come!
